“It’s unacceptable”, why do Madonna’s concerts disappoint part of her audience?

Madonna faces a fine of almost 350,000 euros for her concerts at the O2 Arena in London, after a major violation of the rules in force at the venue. Shows must end no later than 11 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10:30 p.m. Sunday. And the queen of pop didn’t finish on time, Sunday October 15, 2023, because she didn’t start on time.

The rules are strict

The show was scheduled for 7 p.m. but Madonna was still not there at 9 a.m., reports the Mirror. And to add that his very disappointed fans missed his biggest hits, like “Like A Virgin”, “B***h I’m Madonna”, “Holiday” And “Celebration”, which were to close the show. Worse still, the late end of the show (at 11 p.m.) put fans at risk of missing the last metro to return home. The rules of the London Transport and O2 operators, AEG, provide for a penalty of 11,500 euros for each minute played beyond the curfew, according to the Sun. Enough to increase the bill very quickly.

If it is said that it was problems with the venue which would have put Madge behind the initial schedule, the fans did not take exception on the Web. After the event, angry spectators lashed out on social media, saying they had been wronged after missing four of the superstars’ hits.

Angry fans

One said on X (formerly Twitter): “Madonna strikes again… she did this on her last tour… we went to see her in Manchester… 30 minutes late, no excuses, the set ended the same”or “Total lackof respect for the public who pay”, and finally : “I’m sorry but this is only the second show of the tour, and she is depriving the audience of a full performance by being late. This is unacceptable.”
