Guest of 19/20 Saturday November 25, Eve Hohman, whose cousin and her three children are hostages of Hamas, explains that she is experiencing “torture”, even if she is “rejoiced” at the first releases of hostages.

Eve Hohman’s cousin and her three children are hostages of Hamas. Guest of 19/20 Saturday November 25, she explains living “a torture”. “There is a little hope, we are trying to hold on to that”, she confides. Despite the postponement of the releases this Saturday, the 13 hostages who returned to Israel the day before are a source of hope. “We are delighted for the families who have found their loved ones, and I think that we are now all linked by this common destiny. (…) But the pressure remains intact until the last moment. (…) We does not know if all the people are alive among the list that was given“, she continues.

“Slowly” bring the ex-hostages back “into the normal world”

Also present on the set, Marilyne Baranes, doctor of psychology and specialist in post-traumatic stress, explains that ex-hostages are generally “locked in a psychic glaciation”and find themselves in a state of astonishment. “For now, we must bring them back, step by step, very slowly, into the normal world. And to do this, we must avoid all emotion”she specifies
