For a week, France has been experiencing a major political crisis following the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly by President Emmanuel Macron. A situation which led several athletes to speak out, including Florent Manaudou, Saturday June 15, from Chartres where the French championships will take place.
On the eve of the start of the competition, which will issue tickets for the 2024 Olympic Games, the four-time world champion, candidate to become standard bearer in Paris, expressed his annoyance at a press conference: “It doesn’t bother me in my sport, no. But I just find it a shame that we have become a political reality show”he told the press.
“Already it was a little complicated to trust politicians after all these years… But there, whether it’s on the right or the left, I find that everyone is shooting each other in the legs, everyone wants their own post.”
