Guest of 19/20 info, Thursday January 18, Philippe Poutou discusses the reshuffle within the government. “It’s a government which, the worse things go, the more right-wing it is, the more reactive it is, the more violent it is”, deplores the spokesperson for the New Anti-Capitalist Party (NPA), former candidate in the presidential election. Asked about the popularity of the new Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, Philippe Poutou said on the contrary that the minister is “particularly unpopular and even particularly discredited, and in the image of a government where there are only losers, thugs, cheats, those indicted”.
“A government of the rich”
“It is a government of war against the population, against the most precarious, against the most modest. It is a government of the rich with terrible arrogance”, assures Philippe Poutou. According to him, the ministers and the President of the Republic no longer have their feet on the ground and are “completely disconnected” while the company is “in crisis, with more and more poverty, precariousness”.
The NPA spokesperson criticizes the French judicial system, which is “much more severe towards activists, like the comrades of Sainte-Soline”, rather than with certain relaxed political figures like Olivier Dussopt. He therefore denounces a “class justice” who protects “the most privileged” and which tends to “hit very hard on people who challenge the system”.
