“The French team needed to leave with a victory”, declared Saturday February 10 on franceinfo Pierre Berbizier, former coach of the XV of France (1991-1995) and former French international. He reacts after France’s rugby victory against Scotland at the Six Nations tournament (20-16).

A painful victory according to Pierre Berbizier: “The defense held up, but there were a lot of approximations on both sides, it was a match with a lot of disorder, but we will remember the result.” He adds that “only victory is beautiful”.

“It was imperative to win, regardless of the way, we will look at this victory to prepare for the future by being more serene”, he continues. For the next matches, the former coach explains that he “this key will need to be improved”. According to him, the French “were penalized a lot in the first half”.

He also returns to the yellow card given to the French international right pillar, Uini Atonio at the end of the first half: “Discipline problems are recurring, we will have to improve discipline and then we want game intentions to become actions.”
