“It’s going in the right direction, but it’s still a dark day for tomorrow”, warned Thomas Juin, president of the French Airports Union, on Wednesday April 24 on franceinfo, while the majority SNCTA union among French air traffic controllers announced the lifting of its strike notice for Thursday. The movement was expected to be massively followed.
The National Union of Air Traffic Controllers had called a strike to contest the overhaul of air traffic control. Two other unions are maintaining their notice for the moment: “The impact for tomorrow remains significant unfortunately, since we are now a few hours before the strike day and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation is not in a position to really significantly modify the reductions that were planned”affirms Thomas Juin. “When you can postpone your trip, you should do it for tomorrow”he advises.
“It’s improving a little so there will be fewer canceled flights overall, that’s something to be welcomed”he specifies, but “It’s going to be a very disruptive day” despite everything, according to him.
