This Saturday, April 2, 2022, the first battles of the new season of The Voice on TF1. Each coach was subjected to difficult choices between their Talents and more particularly Vianney. The singer notably decided to bring together two great voices full of energy, that of Paloma and that of Louise. Vianney made them revisit the Lomepal tube Too handsome. A challenge that they took up hands down according to him.
“This song is super hard, really, it takes a lot of work to master this song. There are very different speeds, a game of harmony, which demand to be very precise. Both are a little crazy and that’s their beauty, they have a real madness and have managed to channel it technically. I’m very proud“, he judged at the end of their performance.
His comrade Amel Bent totally shared his point of view and confided to having been conquered by the two young women, finding himself even unable to decide between them. “These battles, they are rare, they are precious, they give you a slap in the face… You really got mixed up, you merged, we can’t choose. Both of you are vibrant! I will dissect your vibes… woaaah“, packed the very pregnant singer.
That’s not what I meant
On the other hand, Marc Lavoine appeared much less enthusiastic than his colleagues. “It only concerns me and it is certainly not a value judgment. But I would have liked more silence in fact. I found it a bit too rich, the vibes at the end… Too many notes for me. I like the silence when the voice picks up precisely because it gives it a simple strength“, he explained, then somewhat vexing Vianney at the origin of all these arrangements.
“I found on the contrary that it was not at all vulgar at the end, or demonstrative in the bad sense of the term… The demonstrative side, rolling mechanics at the end because we know how to do it.. They don’t do that at all“, he defended, his face closed. “I didn’t say vulgar!, then corrected Marc Lavoine. That’s not what I meant anyway, I may have misspoken then.“
Vianney then preferred to sweep away the opinion of his coach buddy with a backhand. “It’s interesting but the three here (speaking of him, Amel Bent and Florent Pagny, editor’s note) are more interesting on this one“, he let go before cracking a laugh.
