A serious road accident occurred in the 7th arrondissement of Paris on the evening of Sunday May 8, leaving one dead and several injured. A sad event which unfortunately concerns Yannick Alléno since the victim is none other than his son, Antoine. The latter was driving his scooter, stopped at a red light, when a motorist hit him head-on before fleeing. If his passenger escaped, Antoine Alléno did not survive despite attempts to resuscitate the emergency services dispatched to the scene.
If tributes and messages of condolence have multiplied on social networks, Yannick Alléno has remained silent. But it is through a statement released by Le Figaro that the 53-year-old chef finally spoke with his relatives: “It is with deep sadness that Chef Yannick Alléno, his mother Isabelle, his brother Thomas, his family, as well as the teams of the Yannick Alléno Group inform you of the death of their son, brother, colleague and friend, Antoine, victim of a road accident which occurred on the night of May 8 in Paris. In this painful period, the Alléno family and their loved ones are very sensitive to everyone’s kindness and understanding, while respecting their privacy.“
Antoine Alléno had his whole life ahead of him and was beginning a promising career in the kitchen. After being a student at the Ferrandi school, the young man had learned his skills from his father but also from other great chefs such as Frédéric Anton at the Jules Verne restaurant, located on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Just a year ago, Yannick Alléno and Antoine opened Father & Son Burger in Paris, a family establishment run by the young chef.
If it will be difficult to recover from such news, Yannick Alléno can count on the support of those who remain to him: his oldest son Thomas, his ex-wife Laurence, mother of his boys, and his current wife Laurence. Essential presences that will allow him, gradually, to rediscover the taste for life.
