While on Saturday July 27, twelve Druze teenagers died after a rocket attack, Israel blames Hezbollah and announces reprisals. The international community fears a new escalation of violence.

Thousands of Druze, in traditional dress, came to mourn and honor the twelve teenagers killed on Saturday, July 27 by a rocket. The device crashed in the middle of the afternoon in this small town in the Golan Heights, on a soccer field where many Druze aged 10 to 16 were playing. The Golan Heights is a territory annexed by Israel, wedged between Lebanon and Syria.
The Hebrew state accuses Hezbollah, the Lebanese Islamic movement, of being behind the shooting, and promises reprisals. “Hezbollah is behind the attack. They cannot hide it despite their ridiculous denials. They fired on Israel and they will pay a heavy price for it.”declared Yoav Gallant, Israeli Minister of Defense. A threat taken seriously by Hezbollah, which has evacuated certain positions in southern Lebanon. The international community is worried. Emmanuel Macron says he is fully committed to avoiding a new military escalation. The UN calls on all parties to exercise the greatest restraint.
