is it really good for your health?

2 out of 3 French people consume tea!

Different teas and their benefits

  • Black tea : diuretic, stimulates the nervous system and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It helps in improving breathing and helps reduce systolic blood pressure and stress
  • Green tea : Reduces the risk of cancer (breast, stomach, colon and lungs). Helps in weight loss, prevents premature aging, reduces fat in the liver.
  • white tea : Helps the proper functioning of the joints, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, preserves the body from aging due to its antioxidant power.
  • red tea : rich in antioxidants, burns fat, theine-free, it can be drunk morning or evening without affecting sleep

Les thés de la Pagode offers different ranges of organic teas from Asia. Each tea responds to specific virtues (cholesterol, natural defences, digestion, circulation, articulation, etc.). A well-being range is also available (detox tea, boost, zen, etc.)

Watch out for overconsumption!

Consuming more than six cups of tea a day over a long period of time can be bad for your health.

Here are the harmful effects in case of overconsumption:

  • The fluorine content can cause a risk of skeletal fluorosis (rare condition that makes bones brittle)
  • Risk of anemia (iron deficiency), due to the catechin present in tea
  • Risk of nervousness, insomnia and cardiac arrhythmia due to theine/caffeine present in most teas
  • Too much green tea can reduce the effects of certain medications. Ask your doctor. It can also increase the toxicity of certain treatments such as: dacarbazine, cyclophosphamide, campthotecins, taxanes, EGFR inhibitors, vinca-alkaloids and epipodophyllotoxins…
