Inheritance of Jean-Luc Delarue: The sum that his son Jean received after a legal battle

Jean-Luc Delarue is a key figure in the French audiovisual landscape. His shows or those he created with his production company Reservoir Prod, are a success. The presenter was very popular with the general public. So it was a shock when his death was announced. The presenter died at just 48 years old on the night of Thursday to Friday August 24, 2012, from cancer of the stomach and peritoneum. And his legacy has made a lot of noise.

Thursday, December 9, 2021, the broadcast of NRJ12 Inheritances was interested in the story of Jean-Luc Delarue. Thus, the lawyer Fabian Regairaz explained that “”Today the estate has been settled“. Jean-Luc Delarue left behind a substantial legacy for his wife Anissa Khel, whom he married three months before his death, and his son Jean (15), the fruit of his former love affair with journalist Elisabeth Bost. “Reservoir Prod was sold for 14 million euros. The apartments are valued at 8 million euros. Therefore, we have a total of 22 million euros“, he continued.

Thus, as Jean-Luc Delarue wrote in his will, the sum was divided equally between the widow and her child, i.e. 11 million euros. However, John did not actually receive the same amount as his mother-in-law, because he had to pay the inheritance tax. Anissa Khel being the last wife of Jean-Luc Delarue, she was exempt from paying inheritance tax. “Jean had to pay 45% inheritance tax, so that, in the end, he received just over 6 million euros “, explained the notary.

This detail had, during the opening of Jean-Luc Delarue’s will, provoked the anger of Jean-Claude, the presenter’s father, as well as that of Elisabeth Bost. They did not understand why, fifty-one days before his death, he had added a clause. According to the journalist, the shares really had to be equal between her son and Anissa. She therefore went to court in 2016 to have the marriage between Jean-Luc Delarue and Anissa Khel annulled. She also asked for the cancellation of the PACS concluded between the couple in spring 2012, as well as the will decided by the host and producer of Reservoir Prod.

According to Elisabeth Bost, an opinion shared by Jean-Claude Delarue, Jean-Luc Delarue, weakened by his cancer, would have been influenced and manipulated by Anissa. Allegations totally refuted by the opposing party. The case was examined by the tribunal de grande instance of Paris on February 9, 2016. Justice therefore ruled by applying the last wishes of the late presenter.
