Inflation is set at 5.2% in May, a record. What are the effects of inflation on households? The journalist David Boeri answers this question on the set of 19/20, Wednesday June 1st.

With inflation, the association 60 million consumers estimates that the additional cost is 90 euros per month and per household. “This calculation is based on the average expenditure of the French. On each item, the Nielsen Institute applied a price trend hypothesis. Results : for fuel, with a monthly budget of 134 euros and a 20% increase, this represents an additional expense of 27 euros per month”explains David Boerion the set of 19/20, Wednesday June 1st. For food shopping, it’s 430 euros per month and inflation of 7% represents an increase of 30 euros per month. Finally, thehe bill would have increased by just under 90 euros per month and per household.

Indicators that vary according to household composition. “If we limit ourselves to the grocery basket in the supermarket, the impact can practically vary from one to two, from 38 euros for a family to 21.30 for a couple without children”reports the journalist.
