A study reveals that the French must now have, on average, a personal contribution of nearly 30,000 euros in order to be able to buy real estate. An amount that will increase over time.

Despite declining real estate rates, the value of the personal contribution required to buy real estate is increasing and now reaches, on average, the sum of 30,000 euros. This is what a study reveals and who is analyzed by Anne Sylvain, journalist France Télévisions. “A personal contribution which has increased by 13% in one year, and even by 26% if we compare to the pre-health crisis”, specifies Anne Sylvain.

In certain regions of France, the necessary personal contributions are reaching peaks. For example, it takes on average 86,000 euros of personal contributions. An amount that has increased by 39.5%. In Brittany, the increase reached almost 43.5%, with an average sum of 31,000 euros. The region, located in the west of the country, has attracted the French since the health crisis, explaining the surge in prices. “From January 1, a borrower will not be able to take on more than 35% of his income”, adds the journalist, however.
