Increase in hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports Tuesday 20 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1,441 hospitalizations, an increase of 147. Thirty-nine people are in intensive care, an increase of three.

A total of 6,659 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now stands at 15,617.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,356 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, for a total of 1,096,172 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 238,675 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 197,720 positives. For the day on Monday, 672 tests were declared, including 594 positive.
