A unique air show will be held on Friday June 28 above the Palace of Versailles to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Air Force. The aerial ballet promises to be grandiose with the French patrol, Rafale combat planes and paratroopers.

What better way to celebrate a birthday than diving? The Air Force, born at the Palace of Versailles (Yvelines), will waltz in grand style for its 90th anniversary. The dress rehearsal took place on the evening of Wednesday June 26. Never has such an air show taken place at Versailles. Two days before the big evening, the emblems are rehearsing their ranges, special forces airlifted to the A400M. While waiting for the 20,000 spectators on Friday June 28, a privileged few had the right to attend the rehearsals.

A few hours earlier, at Villacoublay airport (Yvelines), the briefing room is buzzing. Such a spectacle in the suburbs of Paris, close to many airports, is a challenge. On the runway, the rehearsal is done while dancing, with the Versailles flowerbeds at the forefront. A nod to history, the Rafale parades alongside the ancestor of the 1930s, the Stampe. The Patrouille de France, for its part, will go up the royal gardens, guided by an officer on the ground.
