The coronavirus is definitely back in Europe with a fifth wave starting in France: in Normandy, the five departments have exceeded the contamination alert threshold of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The Orne is particularly affected by this epidemic rebound: Thursday, November 18, we counted 118 cases of covid per 100,000 inhabitants in the department.
The Orne prefecture therefore wanted to take the lead and announced new measures: from Saturday, November 20, the mask becomes mandatory outdoors for over 11s, in areas with high concentrations of people. This concerns markets, queues, demonstrations, but also bus stops, the forecourt of schools, stations or places of worship.
Return of the mask indoors in establishments subject to the health pass
Another measure is being implemented throughout the Orne department: in establishments requiring the health pass (cafes, restaurants, concert halls, etc.) and where the mask had become optional, it will now have to be put back indoors.
In Calvados, we are still at a phase of reflection, says the prefecture. No action has been taken yet.
