In the region of Kherson (Ukraine), the shootings are regular and the progress slower than in the northeast. Ukrainian soldiers trample land taken back from the Russians, who are still occupying the city of Kherson and preparing to annex it. “A month ago the Russians were shooting from here. Now it’s much easier, because long-range rocket launchers work. Russian ammunition depots destroyed, their supply routes hit and they begin to run out of ammunition. The ambition of the Ukrainians is to retake Kherson, a city conquered by the Russians from the first days of the conflict. “There, right away, it’s the artillery that does most of the work. We regularly destroy enemy firing positions. Sometimes the Russians target our infantry from armored vehicles. We respond immediately and eliminate their threat“, explains Stus, Ukrainian artillery commander.
