Throughout the week, the 13 Heures sets off to explore the Gulf of Morbihan, which has around a hundred oyster farmers. Very often it is a family affair.

It is one of the treasures of the Gulf of Morbihan: more than 1,500 hectares of oyster beds and oyster farmers who pass on this passion from generation to generation, like Pierrick Le Thiec. Since he was 10 years old, he bathes in oysters. “The sinews of war is the stock, to never run out of oysters. And it takes a lot, between 10 to 15 million oysters to be able to ensure a year”he explains.

Succession is ensured with his son Pierre, 13 years old. “He taught me that since I was little. So, it’s in my blood. If my father didn’t do oyster farming, I don’t think I would be in oysters”says Peter. “We can spend hours hooking pockets talking and telling each other about the week. There are things I learn here that I didn’t know at home”, laughs Pierrick Le Thiec. Each year, this farm produces 400 tons of oysters.
