IN PICTURES – Stéphane Bern visits Levroux for the filming of the “Favorite Village of the French”

Will Levroux be designated the favorite village of the French? The town of Indre is part of the selection for the 2022 edition of the flagship program of France 3. After the coronation of Sancerre last year, the Berrichons hope that another town in their territory will shine on the television screens. The votes of Internet users are closed: we will know the verdict when the program is broadcast (end of June or beginning of July).

In the meantime, the show’s film crews are criss-crossing France to visit the 14 villages in competition. They stopped in Levroux this Thursday, April 14 in Levroux, with Stéphane Bern. The town was actually chosen to represent the Centre-Val-de-Loire region this year.

It is a wonder to discover the richness of the heritage

In a big morning, the program was loaded: visit of the emblematic places of the village, in particular the Saint-Sylvain collegiate church, the wooden house, the Porte de Champagne construction sitebut also exchanges with the inhabitants and the merchants, and the preparation of an Easter pie, followed by a giant picnic with the inhabitants…

Levrousains delighted to introduce their village

Camera in hand, a few curious locals follow the film crew. “To see Stéphane Bern of course!”admits Miriam. “He is very approachable, very kind”, says Alain, who was able to chat a little with the star presenter. Delighted residents who hope that the host will fall under the spell of the village! “It’s hard not to like the Berry”, recognizes Stéphane Bern, during his visit. He knows the region well, since he lives in Eure-et-Loir, in the Perche, where he bought a property.

“It’s a real pride for the inhabitants who will see themselves in prime time on France 3 in a few weeks, smiles the mayorAlexis Rousseau-Jouhennet. Above all, we will show the best of what we have in Levroux. For two years, we have been working to maintain our heritage. It’s an accomplishment and a lot of joy.”. Regardless of the outcome of the show, he is delighted with this tremendous spotlight on the town which should attract tourists, as has been the case in Sancerre since last year.
