In Odessa (Ukraine), life resumes on Wednesday, March 23. In the market of the southern Ukrainian port city, booksellers have reopened. Yet the threat of a Russian invasion is still there. Vladimir Putin’s troops are blocked 130 km away, in the city of Mykolaiv (Ukraine). The inhabitants come out of their homes to reinvest their city. “Odessa’s iconic little cafes are once again welcoming their customers, scenes that were unimaginable just a few days ago.”reports Angélique Forget, journalist for France Télévisions and special correspondent in Odessa.
The inhabitants seem for the moment to have still a little time before a Russian offensive, and they intend to take advantage of it, at least those who remained. Indeed, 15% of the population has already left the city.
