At 19th day of the war in Ukraine, Monday, March 14, the bombardments continue in Mykolaiv (Ukraine). To protect themselves, the inhabitants take refuge in underground passages.

Monday, March 11, like every evening, the inhabitants of Mykolaiv (Ukraine) take refuge in shelters or underground to escape Russian missiles. The basement of a neighborhood school houses a hundred people. Two retirees, who have come to hide with their cat, are afraid of being alone at home. Ludmila tries to forget the outside, immersed in a thriller. In the shelter, no one sleeps. Thanks to the surveillance camera of an inhabitant, some control a screen, to identify the strikes.

They send the bombs on civilians or sleeping quarters“, describes Ivan, a former gas station boss, in charge of order in the shelter. At 6 o’clock, some want to get out, but strikes that have fallen not far away make them go back underground again. “I’m going to leave the country, I’m too scared“, confides a young girl. With others, she joins buses, chartered for Moldova.
