The first immediate appearances for acts of violence during the May Day demonstrations will take place in Lyon on Wednesday May 3. “Eight adults will be tried today for acts of violence”says journalist Alexis Cécilia-Joseph. “Four men, four women. Their profiles are still a little vague, they are unknown to the police and do not all come from the Lyon region”.

Violence against police officers

“At least one black bloc profile will be tried today for acts of violence against police officers”specifies Alexis Cécilia-Joseph, who adds that “27 police officers were injured, one seriously.” According to the town hall of Lyon, 50 businesses were vandalized, “half completely ransacked”. In Lyon, “66 people were arrested and half released. For some, these arrests are considered abusive”, continues the journalist. A demonstration is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in front of the court, before the immediate appearances.
