In Pannecé (Loire-Atlatique), the Beauséjour wind farm has been part of the local landscape for 13 years. Whether the aging fleet is to be replaced, no official announcement has yet been made. Mistrust wins the inhabitants.
The Beauséjour wind farm is one of the oldest in the region. Since its installation 13 years ago, the movement of the blades punctuates the town of Pannecé (Loire-Atlantique). Nobody pays attention to it. “From home, I see one but it doesn’t bother me. The noise… We don’t hear them“, explains a resident.
The news fell a few months ago: the park, aging, must be replaced to increase its electricity production. However, no official announcement has been made. Residents hope that public meetings will be held to be able to answer their many questions. Mistrust wins the town and those surrounding it.
AT Trans-sur-Erdre (Loire-Atlantique), the town has nine wind turbines in its landscape, for only 1,000 inhabitants. The prefecture grants building permits, the mayors cannot oppose them: an asset for private builders. “It only reinforces the hard refractory view of the opponents, who say that we should not authorize a little, because as soon as we authorize them, we do not know how far it can go“, Xavier Loubert-Davaine, mayor of Trans-sur-Erdre. Two years ago, an association of residents won in court to prevent the installation of wind turbines. A victory that could call for others?
