(Rome) Two young Italians without means of transport simulated discomfort on Sunday to be driven by ambulance to their destination, filming and broadcasting their imposture on social networks, the carabinieri announced on Friday.
In a single day, their video on TikTok went viral, surpassing 50,000 views. The caption accompanying the images, “When you’re out in the countryside and there’s no public transport”, leaves little doubt as to the nature of their trickery.
Especially since from the first seconds, one of the protagonists bravely launches: “We are lost in the middle of the countryside, and now we are solving the problem”. They thus contact the emergency services, to which they affirm that one of them fainted because of a sunstroke, while laughing at the situation.
All the adventures of their imposture are filmed, from the call for help to their journey by ambulance to the seaside town of Riccione in Emilia-Romagna.
Their journey ends in the emergency room, which of course they leave after a few minutes, according to the ANSA agency.
The two young people, aged 19 and 20, were identified thanks to their video by the gendarmes of Riccione. After the complaint filed by the health agency of Emilia-Romagna, they are prosecuted for “interruption of public service” and “false alarm”.
One of the protagonists admitted his mistake to the local daily Il resto del carlino “I’m a moron, I shouldn’t have done that”.
