IN IMAGES – What is this whale on the quays in Bordeaux?

The whale was stranded on the Quai des Chartrons. On the left bank of Bordeaux, this Thursday morning, passers-by discover the body of the cetacean several meters long, surrounded by security barriers. Around the animal are busy several people in white coats and flocked jackets “International Whale Association”. The scene looks like the images seen in September in Finistère when a whale was stranded on a beach before going back to sea.

“Playing on the border between reality and fiction” is precisely the objective of the collective of artists behind this staging. The “Captain Boomer” collective that France Bleu Gironde joined this Thursday morning. Captain Boomer has already organized such “strandings” in several cities around the world. The artists explain themselves on their website
: “The stranding of a whale has always been a magical event. Villages trembled and were elated when it happened. This is what we are rebuilding.” To see social networks this Thursday morning, their approach is having an effect.
