Buying an air conditioner to make the atmosphere in your home more tolerable is a great temptation. Equipment that we know is energy-intensive and not very eco-compatible, but no matter, air conditioning installers are currently overwhelmed by requests from individuals.

Little Mathéo is lucky. To his birth, two months ago, his parents decided to install air conditioning in their home in Bischwiller (Bas-Rhin). The cost of this comfort: 9,000 euros, and no regrets. “When we have hot weather like we have right now and if it’s the future, we tend to always stay inside because the weather is much better”, recognizes Julien Martin. At the next door neighbor, the fan is still running, but not for long.

The retiree has also decided to invest in refreshing his home. “In the evening, upstairs, it is often over 30°C, and sleeping is not easy”, says Adrien Garing. So equipping yourself with an air conditioner becomes obvious for many individuals. In six months, the manager of Elsass Clim has already completed almost as many projects as last year. But air conditioning is not an end in itself, it also has serious consequences, such as increased energy consumption, and therefore greenhouse gas emissions.
