Effective since Friday, November 24, the four-day truce concluded between Hamas and Israel has allowed the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip to regain a precarious calm. Relieved but in shock, they noted the extent of the damage.
After 49 days of bombing, silence covers the ruins of Gaza. No bombings, no planes, no drones in the sky. The residents are relieved, but in shock. The four-day truce concluded between Hamas and Israel allows them to move and find that nothing remains of their home. A district of Khan Younes (Gaza) is a field of ruins. Fragile adults made the trip. Children sit in the rubble and women are in tears.
Refugees want to go north
The streets are jammed and the sound of bombs is replaced by the tumult of horns. Refugees gathered their personal belongings, determined to return to their village. A family is heading towards the west of the enclave. A few minutes before the truce, the Israeli army dropped leaflets on southern Gaza. They mention that returning to the north is prohibited. However, some refugees want to go there to recover the bodies of their loved ones. On the outskirts of Gaza City, in the north of the enclave, there are Israeli tanks and men fleeing towards the south in the fragile calm of the truce.
