Consciously or unconsciously, there are two main obstacles today that are preventing us from coming to terms with the COVID-19 pandemic: vaccine vendors and anti-vaccine campaigners.
At the start of the pandemic generated by the Wuhan coronavirus in 2020, the main obstacle to controlling COVID-19 was scientific. Little was known about this virus.
Within months, thanks to scientific genius and financial support from states, the Wuhan virus was demystified and vaccines to counter it were developed. But because of the variants of the initial virus, the fight is not yet won.
However, variants are not a real obstacle. Today, it is clear that we are facing two major obstacles to overcome the pandemic. It is about greed and selfishness.
Greed
Considering the speed and expansion of the South African variant, Omicron, it would be good to shine the spotlight on much of the planet with its low levels of vaccination. Without it, it would be pointless to hope that in the medium short term we will see the real end of COVID-19.
This is bad news for public health, but very good news for vaccine dealers who find it of particular interest.
According to a study by the People’s Vaccine Alliance, an organization with 80 member associations, the two main vaccine merchants, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, have reported profits of around US $ 1,000 per second, US $ 65,000 per minute, so 34 billion US dollars in the year 2021, thanks to their COVID-19 vaccines sold in “rich countries”.
Considering the billions of dollars they are raising, what would be their interest in seeing the COVID-19 pandemic end?
We have had the capacity to immunize the entire world population for a long time to end the pandemic.
However, these vaccine dealers monopolize and “exploit patents and other intellectual property rights to prevent other companies from manufacturing the vaccines and drugs they have developed with public funds.” They have a monopoly on production, distribution and prices, ”says the People’s Vaccine Alliance.
Consequently, the large part of the planet with low vaccination levels would become an incubation basin for variants that could one day or another come to haunt us as the South African variant did recently. A pool of variants which would justify the production of “adjusted” vaccines and which would further drain our public funds and further disrupt our lives.
Variant relay
Despite the privilege that we have with our vaccine capacity here in Quebec, there are still people who, by their egocentric, ideological posture, their fear or their ignorance, keep us away from collective immunity, because they oppose vaccination. .
The vaccinated must constantly worry about it, because they are the privileged relays of the variants. Incidentally, they play Big-Pharma’s game with their boosters.
