“I’m not big enough” by Marvin Marchand, texts directly inspired by the artist’s experience

Originally from Lyon, he is a composer and director accustomed to the shadow of machines and assisted music by computer. He decided to take the plunge by becoming a songwriter and performer.

In 2021, Marvin Marchand, an expert in melancholy synths and bouncy drums, presents “Je ne suis pas de size”, a debut EP with an intensity worthy ofa secret long kept to oneself that we finally dared to reveal.

If we hear the influence of The Weeknd, electronic music and French text song, Marvin Marchand’s project is unique in that it is based on the paradox of a loneliness laid bare in front of everyone.

First imagined on piano-voice, the six songs of the EP are in fact a long-awaited blossoming: the pain and the brutality of the condemnation to be oneself open here and there to guitar riffs filled with hope. Marvin Marchand pursues an introspective monologue that transforms the dancefloor into a space for reflection, as in “T’embarrier danser” where he is actually addressing himself more than the loved one.
