Patients, victims of proven medical errors, are fighting to be compensated by the National Medical Accident Compensation Office, an organization created in 2002.

Living daily with narcolepsy. Jeanne, 23, struggles with this seriously debilitating sleeping sickness. Every day, she must take a cocktail of medications to control her illness. At this combat, is added that to obtain compensation from theONIAM (National Medical Accident Compensation Office). Jeanne’s illness broke out shortly after her flu shot H1N1in 2009. His life was turned upside down. In addition to narcolepsy, the slightest emotion can cause a loss of muscle tone throughout the body.

A damning report

Everywhere in Europe, health authorities have established the link between the vaccine and these pathologies. So, Jeanne requested compensation from theONIAM. Despite three medical assessments and two court decisions which prove him right, the public body refuses to recognize the cause and effect link in his case. Created in 2002, theONIAM was supposed to provide a humane response to victims of medical accidents. But in 2017, the Court of Auditors issued a damning report.

L’ONIAM did not wish to speak in front of the cameras, but responded in writing:The creation of theOniam constituted an important step forward for health democracy and patients’ rights […]. Since its creation, the office has processed 95,000 claims for compensation.”
