“I was in great solitude”: Faustine Bollaert talks about her difficult adolescence

At the helm of the hit show It starts today on France 2, Faustine Bollaert draws always honest confessions from her speakers and, herself, is not the last when it comes to telling the truth. This is what she proves in Gala, who followed her to Morocco for a getaway in the footsteps of her childhood since it was in this country that she regularly spent holidays with her grandparents.

Now 42 years old, Faustine Bollaert is a good woman in her life at all levels. She has a great career in television, she has found a husband – the novelist Maxime Chattam – with whom it is osmosis and is the mother of two children (Abbie, 8 years old and Peter, 6 years old). Obviously, at this point in her life, the facilitator can already start to take stock and look in the rearview mirror. “I evolved under the eyes of viewers. At first, I had a spicy image because it was the era of TV snipers, then I turned to programs that are more like me, with a form of empathy and benevolence. I’m the ‘girl next door’ (the girl next door)“, she says to describe herself.

Now happy in this role, Faustine Bollaert relishes all the more success as the world of television made her dream since she was little. In her show, the host recognizes, however, that certain moments are harder to live with than others because they echo in her and in the young girl she was. “Let’s say I felt different as a teenager. I was in great loneliness. I was diagnosed early and I have this tree-like thought that when people stop at the answers, I still have questions to ask“, she decrypts. What makes its strength on such a program and seduces its audience.

Note that we can find Faustine Bollaert in the show The times are changing (November 16 on France 2) and The secret box (November 19 on France 3).
