I have been a sovereigntist for a few years already. However, I had never voted for the Parti Québécois until October 3rd. Why ? It is that the people who succeeded one another recently at the head of the PQ did not seem to me to be solid in terms of their desire to officially found a country. Then, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon appeared and won my trust.
I therefore followed with passion the whole saga concerning the refusal of the three elected PQ members to take the oath to King Charles III. Thursday 1er December, I admired their dignity in the face of the refusal of the new President of the National Assembly to give them access to the Blue Room. How many years have we not seen deputies display their convictions with such panache? How to build a country if one evolves only at the level of the daisies? Isn’t seeing far essential to achieve sovereignty?
I leave you with a few words contained in another oath, the one I took last November 19 at Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church in Montreal. During this event organized by Mon Oath and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society, the public was invited to “deny all allegiance to Charles III, declared king of Canada…” The act of abjuration was followed by that of allegiance “ to the Quebec nation…” When will I have the happiness of “faithfully serving the Republic of Quebec in all friendship with the Aboriginal peoples”?
