Joeystarr to the rescue of women victims of domestic violence ? The choice of Clarisse Fontaine may be surprising, but the actress accepts it. The young woman, guest on RTL this Saturday March 2, 2024 alongside the rapper and actor, revealed that she had chosen him as director for her new feminist play called This little music that no one hears. In this room, Clarisse Fontaine “addresses the ills of our society still rife with misogyny” as reported on the Théâtre du Balcon website, where the actress performs. But then, why did she choose Joeystarr as director even though the latter was convicted in 2009 for acts of violence committed against his ex-partner ?
Indeed, in February 2009, Joeystarr was sentenced to three months in prison and a fine of 2,000 euros, following a complaint filed by his ex-partner a few months earlier. Placed under judicial supervision at the end of August 2008 following police custody, he was ultimately heavily sentenced the following winter. seems to have learned from his mistakes, and says he is proud to stage a play which allows him to become aware of the acts he committed : “I found a lot of things in common with what it said, with this face-to-face encounter with the world. I found myself there” he explained on RTL.

Although surprised by the proposal that Clarisse Fontaine made to him when she contacted him, Joeystarr quickly said yes, aware that this piece could bring him beautiful vibes: “It makes me face my mistakes. I am still, at 56, under construction. At that time, I was even more so. I know what I am talking about” confided the former sidekick of Kool Shen.
If Clarisse Fontaine recognizes that her choice may seem provocative and “antinomic”she accepts it and considers it more thoughtful than ever: “It’s up to society as a whole to move forward together. We must not divide people, put categories. We must move forward together, take this path. It opened a door for me and I hope it will open one for others.”.
