On the set of “L’Evenement” on France 2, the leader of the Socialist Party reaffirmed that he was “ready” to take on the post of Prime Minister.
“The French people have spoken, we must now respect their choice.” Guest on “L’Evénement” on France 2, Wednesday July 10, the First Secretary of the Socialist Party, Olivier Faure, reacted to Emmanuel Macron’s letter to the French people, in which the head of state considers that “nobody took it away” in the legislative elections. While the New Popular Front came out on top in the poll, Olivier Faure calls on the president “has “respect one’s republican duty” by appointing a Prime Minister from the left-wing coalition.

“I have chosen to unite the left and I will not budge”declared the leader of the socialists, questioned on the alliance of the PS with La France insoumise. Olivier Faure reaffirmed that he was “ready” to assume the post of Prime Minister. Negotiations are continuing within the New Popular Front to find a candidate for Matignon. The decision will be taken “in the coming days, in the coming hours”he assures.
