Eight months after the release of his album “Dog”, the singer Renaud made his big comeback on the stage, in Avignon, for the launch of his tour, named “In my strings“, last January. The same month, the Enfoirés troupe found its audience, after two years of Covid-19, to record 6 concerts from January 12 to 16, 2023 at the Halle Tony-Garnier in Lyon. And if the illustrious interpreter of “Winner Mistral”aged 70, did not attend, it is not for a conflict of agenda.
Why Renaud said “no”
Remember, in 2011, the one who participated in the show no less than 6 times (between 1992 and 2004) explained why he slammed the door. Yet close to Coluche, who founded the Restos du Coeur, he estimated in an interview with TVMagazinethat he did not want to be part of a “big carnival circus”.
And for good reason, he confessed 10 years ago: “I’m offered improbable duets each time. I don’t want to sing with Mimie Mathy, Christophe Maé or Patrick Timsit, or dress up as a clown to perform Aznavour’s ‘La Mamma'”. And he’s not the only legendary outspoken singer who feels the date puts artists in a tough spot.

In the same spirit, in 2013, Eddy Mitchell also knocked out Les Enfoirés in the columns of TVMagazine. The singer of “Water-based mint color” lamented the “mix of genres”which made him flee after only 3 participations (including the very first show of Les Enfoirés in 1989, recorded at the Zénith de Paris).
Eddy Mitchell furious too
Johnny Hallyday’s best friend said about the concerts: “I’m a professional singer, I’m not going to sing with a footballer. Or, we do Footballers make the restaurants. Why not? Or The TV icons do the Restos du coeur, with Mimie Mathy, but the mix, I don’t do not understand”.
Fortunately for Mimie Mathy, quoted many times by these detractors, in this year 2023, after health problems, the heroine of Joséphine Ange Gardien was entitled to a golden tribute…
