“I do not exclude that the head of the establishment decides to return to his post“, declared, Friday March 29, on franceinfo Me Francis Lec, lawyer for the principal of the Maurice Ravel high school in Paris, threatened with death after an altercation with a student to make her remove her veil, and who left his post at the beginning week.
“He was not retired. He requested his removal for security reasons, not to retire,” explained the lawyer. “He is also in his high school and he benefits from the tremendous support of all the principals, all the teachers and the parents of the students, and that comforts him.” “I do not exclude not that faced with this situation, the head of the establishment decides to return to his post”he continued, explaining however that “it’s a hypothesis” but that he does not have “no certainty on this point”.
The principal’s lawyer also reacted to the comments of the Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet, who announced the creation at the next school year of a “mobile school force” national, made up of around twenty people, who could be sent to educational establishments in the event of “difficulties”. “Anything that contributes to helping establishment heads to deal with delicate situations, security or application of the Republican law of their establishment is welcome”, greeted Francis Lec.
