Hungarian Grand Prix | Nine in eleven for Max Verstappen

The happiness will have been short-lived for supporters of Lewis Hamilton.

Qualifying promised an intriguing race, as the Mercedes driver held the lead position for the first time since 2021.

From the first corner, Verstappen calmed everyone’s enthusiasm. The Dutchman, in his usual brilliance, took the lead. All hopes of a good old fight between Red Bull and Mercedes suddenly evaporated.

Even the two McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, which have been in full resurrection for three Grands Prix, overtook Hamilton at the start. It’s good to say.

“Sorry about that, guys,” the seven-time world champion dropped into his microphone.

Verstappen didn’t have to worry about anyone; he rode alone from the first to the last lap to win his 9e of 11 Grands Prix this season. Incidentally, Red Bull remains undefeated this season.

For a second race in a row, Lando Norris took second place. “Let’s go! Yeah baby! launched the young 23-year-old driver into his microphone.

Sergio Pérez, party 9e on the grid, took third place. This result will be something to delight the Mexican, whose recent difficulties have been discussed for several weeks.

Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc concluded the 4e5e and 6e ranks, followed by George Russell and Carlos Sainz Jr. The two Aston Martins of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, in that order, close the top 10.

More details to come.
