In the Gaza Strip, the town of Rafah has been targeted by Israel for several days. The humanitarian aid crossing point has been closed since the IDF took control of it.

A building in Rafah (Gaza Strip) was hit by a strike on Thursday, May 9. The first two levels went up in smoke and witnesses counted several victims. In recent days, the Israeli army has targeted the town several times, after ordering some of the residents to evacuate. “The Israeli army hit us with two missiles, without prior warning, it is a criminal act. Eight people died”testifies a man.

Humanitarian aid is struggling to arrive. The Rafah crossing point has been closed since the Israeli army took control of it. Kerem Shalom, the other entry point to the enclave, is reopened according to Israel. The UN says aid is not entering Gaza due to lack of fuel. Many Gazans went to Deir el-Balah, further north in the Gaza Strip. The camps are spread out, but cannot accommodate everyone. Aid is expected to arrive soon by sea to improve the humanitarian situation.
