Human success… | The duty

I used to have a Haitian friend who, one day, in a certain panic, told me that the human being was a failure.

I then remained silent for a moment on this assertion before replying to him that, on the contrary, it was his success that was pushing him to his loss. That everywhere on our planet, he was triumphant, having defeated all his adversaries, that his resilience and his population growth attested to it. The problem was elsewhere, that its domination was at the expense of all other plant and animal species. It was taking up too much space! The beauty of the world was going to be ruined just by its endless needs.

Hence my following observation, that in all conditions, we will first deny and then we will adapt, whatever the cost! The costs of a world population of over eight billion people and, on a smaller scale, of a Canada of one hundred million souls by the end of this century are only charged to those who are already there. , So what ? The decline in our economic growth, but above all in demographic growth, should be the only response to bring to COP15!
