A lunar sequence. This Thursday, October 12, 2023, Laurent Ruquier abandoned his 8 p.m. to make way for a special evening dedicated to the Hamas attacks against Israel last Saturday. The journalists of BFMTV also took advantage of this special broadcast to comment on the speech of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, who spoke this Thursday evening on the situation of the Israelis.
Our colleagues therefore sent journalists to follow the Head of State’s speech in the company of certain Israeli families who expected a lot from his speech. “We will immediately head to Tel Aviv and find Ronald Guintrange. Ronald, you followed this speech by the President of the Republic with an Israeli family who is waiting for news of Céline. Céline, who has been missing for 5 days now, may have was kidnapped last Saturday”announced Maxime Switek, presenter of the special show, before his journalist took the floor.

Big technical problem live on BFMTV
“Céline, 32, disappeared on Saturday morning while she was going to a party, she was about to go dancing at this rave, where we know part of what happened. With me this evening, Ido, you are Céline’s husband. Good evening, Samuel, you are Céline’s brother”then introduces Ronald Guintrange before continuing: “‘We will not leave the children of France’, these are the words of Emmanuel Macron this evening. Are the children of France Céline? Is this the message you were you waiting today?”.
But as Ido spoke, a technical error occurred. The young man, speaking Hebrew, could not be translated live. “He is a French interpreter, he is not a Jewish interpreter! Damn! But you are buffoons!”we could hear in the background of the interview visibly coming from the management of BFMTV, no doubt annoyed by the situation after realizing that no interpreter was called in to translate the speech live.
Fortunately for our colleagues, Céline’s brother spoke French very well and was able to express himself without worry. When he returned to the set, Maxime Switek apologized and noted a “small translation problem”. “Maybe Benjamin Petrover, you can help us”, he continued, finding “refuge” with his journalist. A few hours later, BFMTV apologized on X, formerly Twitter: “Due to a technical problem, comments made off-air were heard live. BFMTV would like to apologize to all those who were shocked.”
