Before his death, the resistance fighter Hubert Germain asked that a small cross of Lorraine in oak be fashioned. It’s done. He also wanted it to be built with charred wood from Notre-Dame de Paris. This Lorraine cross was created in the basement of Les Invalides, carved by a cabinetmaker. “The wood was badly bruised. It often shattered when I put it to the machine “, he explains. This symbol of France will accompany Hubert Germain to his last home, Mont Valérien.
