Once there was the scientist or the cosmonaut and now there is Naruto. This week, the Post announced the issue of a stamp with the effigy of the manga hero, a green letter stamp at 1.16 euros, and we have of course cringed some grumpy people who remember that once , as in this song by Jacques Danno, the stamps had other subjects. At that time, school children collected stamps and this song by Jacqueline Dannio is indeed about it.
In the first episode of These songs that make the news this weekend, you hear excerpts from:
Jacqueline Danno, Hymn to the stamp1975
Fernand Raynaud, The Stamp at 0.25 F1960
Andre Claveau, A simple postcard, 1959
Patachou, Poste restante1958
Michael Jonasz, Wagonnets1979
Damian, Stamp2012
Jean-Francois Gardeil, Stamp by Jean Cocteau, 1920 (recording from 1989)
Claude Francois, I will ship to your address1976
