On May 22, Guy Marchand will celebrate his 85th birthday. And no question for the actor who got his very first role in 1962, to retire! After appearing in the film “Everything smiles at us” by Mélissa Drigeard in 2020, we can find him, next May 11 at the cinema, in the film “Les Folies fermières”. The actor will notably give the reply to Sabrina Ouazani, Alban Ivanov, Michèle Bernier or even Bérengère Krief.
This Tuesday, May 3, 2022, Guy Marchand was thus invited on the set of the program “En aparté” broadcast on Canal +. The opportunity for the actor, to discuss in front of the host Nathalie Levy, his long career in the seventh art and the reasons which push him to continue filming. The actor also explained that he was in high demand by the new generation: “It helps me with my end of the month, that’s for sure” he said before adding that “it was getting difficult”.
In October 2021, the actor had indeed confided to having financial difficulties: “It was time for me to shoot again because we are broke” he had confessed in the columns of the Parisian. “I spent it all… The hair, the cars, the women. I liked living broadly. And I didn’t get star salaries. I’m a tourist” He revealed. Two years before this assertion, the actor had already explained that he was in “the red with his retirement and because of taxes at source”…
The octogenarian is therefore happy to see that he is still being called upon to shoot in major films: “They find me jobs. It’s still older type jobs but still, there’s always something interesting to come out of the fragile characters that I play.” he said on Canal +.
