On Wednesday, September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the mobilization of 300,000 men in Ukraine. Luc Lacroix tells how this announcement was received.

300,000 Russians will join the troops in Ukraine, said Vladimir Putin who decreed the partial mobilization, Wednesday, September 21. “There are demonstrations against this mobilization, but their scale is very small. It must be said that the authorities have warned: the participants are exposed to sanctions”, explains journalist Luc Lacroix. Plane tickets to Armenia and Turkey, countries for which Russians do not need visas, are being taken by storm.

“It would seem that some prefer to leave the country rather than risk being mobilized”, continues the journalist. However, in Rostov-on-Don, in the south of the country, he met many residents who support this mobilization. With this decision, “from now on, this war directly affects all Russians, directly or indirectly. They cannot act as if it does not concern them”, concludes Luc Lacroix.
