If they have been singled out for several months by millions of French people, influencers nevertheless continue to offer a number of sponsored publications. Latest: the collaboration that Jesta Hillmann has made with the Kinder brand from Ferrero, and which is far from having won over its loyal subscribers. Indeed, in a post released on Monday March 20, the former adventurer of “Koh-Lanta” revealed the images of her trip to Alba, Italy, in the company of all her relatives. A journey of interest since it was for the young woman to ensure the promotion of the Kinder brand, by coming to visit the largest factory of the Ferrero group.
‘”We had the chance to visit the largest of the Ferrero factories. Moreover, more than two million Kinder surprise eggs come out of this factory every day” unveiled the young woman to her 1.4 million subscribers. In a second paragraph, Jesta Hillmann praises the company: ”Kinder is a committed brand that promotes access to sport for children with the Kinder Joy of Moving program (…) Before leaving, we had the chance to discover the Ferrero Foundation which brings together former Ferrero employees’‘.
A timely collaboration
A promotion that does not pass and that Jesta Hillmann subscribers have violently criticized. Indeed, as many of them point out, the Kinder company was confronted a year ago with a serious health scandal, which undoubtedly weakened the credibility and the economy of the brand. With the Easter holidays approaching, this collaboration is fooling no one: ” They are smart at Kinder, we go through influencers to restore their image a little, after the scandal of last year at Easter time huh…”, point to one of them. Another to add: ‘‘I would be ashamed to advertise for them’.
Another user criticized Jesta Hillmann for promoting a brand while ”writing cookbooks that advocate eating well” : ‘‘It is very bad for public health to advertise this kind of product which damages the future health of our children’. For the time being, Jesta Hillmann has been content to respond only to positive comments, and has hidden all those who reproach him for this controversial collaboration.
In May 2022, Nicolas Neykov, general manager of Ferrero France, spoke for the very first time about the scandal. The latter wanted to be transparent and apologized: “I came to tell you that what happened is not acceptable. We’re sorry, I’m sorry.”
