(Ottawa) Pro-Palestinian demonstrators briefly disrupted question period on Wednesday in the House of Commons.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was responding to a question from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre when protesters in the public gallery started making noise.
A handful of people held banners and chanted “Free Palestine, stop arming Israel.”
House of Commons security seized the banners and escorted the demonstrators, but some continued to chant their slogans near the exit.
The president interrupted the debate for two minutes before resuming proceedings a few minutes later.
Visitors entering the House of Commons to watch Question Period from the public gallery must pass a security check when entering the building.
