host Sébastien Cauet, accused of rape, speaks for the first time

Saying he was “devastated”, the presenter of the NRJ show “C’Cauet” broke his silence on Sunday to accuse the complainants of “lies”.

He repeated it throughout the interview: “Everything is false, everything is a lie.” Host Sébastien Cauet, targeted by three complaints for rape and sexual assault, spoke publicly for the first time since the start of the affair, Sunday December 10. “The words of female victims are sacred (…) In my case, they are lies”he asserted, “devastated”on BFMTV.

Confronted with a document presented as a capture of his exchanges with one of the complainants, Sébastien Cauet mentioned “a montage” and assured that he had transmitted to the investigators “the entirety” of his exchanges with her. Despite reminders from the journalist who questioned him, he remained vague about his proximity to the complainant, refusing to give his version of their meeting in the hotel room where a rape allegedly took place.

“There were forgeries, maneuvers, attempts at extortion by organized gangs”defended the presenter, who himself filed a complaint for these reasons. “I’m dying to show you the damning documents we have. I can’t. It’s all in the hands of the police”he explained, referring to “irrefutable evidence” of his innocence. According to the host, the complaints aimed at him are aimed at “destroy”. “I trust the police, who work quickly, and I trust the justice system”did he declare.

Asked about his possible return to the NRJ antenna, where he has no longer officiated since November 22 “agreement” with the station, “Cauet” said “hope(r) to take the microphone again, because the microphone is life, when NRJ decides”. “Today the teams are talking to each other, I’ve been working with NRJ for 20 years, I love this brand”he stressed.
