After covid-19 and the confinements, many French people have taken the step of buying a house with a garden. But many others have given up because of the sharp increase in the cost of building materials.
Jean-Marc builds individual houses in the region of Troyes (Aube). With the rise in the price of raw materials, these customers worry about the amount of the final invoice. Nicolas wanted to build a house of 120m2 for 300,000 euros but finally he fell back on buying an old house. “If we had had it built, we would have exceeded our budget by 50,000 euros”, he declares.
