his wife Anne Le Nen talks about her brother who died of AIDS after being deliberately contaminated

Before falling in love with Muriel Robin, whom she met in 2006 and whom she married in February 2021, Anne Le Nen did not always have a life filled with love. Guest of the social dinner organized by Thierry Ardisson and Audrey Crespo-Mara on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the cult show 93, Faubourg Saint-Honoré on Paris Première, Anne Le Nen returned with emotion to the terrible ordeal she faced thirty years ago, when she was only 22 years old: the sudden disappearance of her older brother, voluntarily contaminated by a man during his first sexual intercourse, and who, upon learning that he had AIDSpreferred to end his life rather than gradually deteriorate.

“He doesn’t know if he’s gay or not so he tries. And he comes across a guy who has AIDS and as he had never made love before, when he does his tests, he calls the guy, very badly, thinking that he will teach him by saying: I’m sorry but it must be you because I haven’t known anyone before. And the guy bursts out laughing confides the actress who is a hit on TF1 with her wife Muriel Robin in the comedy detective series Master Crimes. Anne Le Nen, just an adult, has only one desire when she learns the terrible news: to find the man who trapped her brother to fight it out, and kill him: “So I know what it’s like to want to kill someone. I spent a year wanting to find this guy and wanting to kill him because I was very, very close to my brother.”

“He bathes my mother to kill himself”

A vain fight for life, and which Marc lost quickly, preferring to end his life in 1993rather than facing the terrible physical fallout of AIDS and its progression: “My brother committed suicide in 1993. He belonged to an association helping people at the end of life, in which he participated regularly. My parents lived in Nice, they had returned from Africa, and my mother came to spend a week with him to participate in one of his seminars. I stayed in Nice, I was in college at that time, and he participates, he comes home in the evening, he bathes my mother and calls the association they were at two hours before to tell them: I’m going to kill myself, someone needs to come and be with mom. Unfortunately, Marc Le Nen puts his words into action and ends his life.

For many years, Anne Le Nen struggled to mourn, and continued excesses, as she reminded Audrey Crespo-Mara this Saturday, December 24, 2023. Guest of Seven to Eight alongside the one who saved her, Muriel Robin, the 52-year-old actress reveals that she “burst out of anger” : “I was devastated, unable to grieve. I went out a lot, I chased love, in order to feel alive”. Vain and in no way restorative outings, which only pushed Anne Le Nen further into melancholy, from which only one person managed to get her out of it: Muriel Robin. If the loss of Marc still remains painful today, Anne Le Nen will have at least succeeded in taming him.
