On December 16, 2023, Ève Gilles was elected Miss France 2024 in front of millions of viewers at the Zénith in Dijon. Thanks to the jury’s votes, the one who represented the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region was crowned and thus succeeds the beautiful Indira Ampiot. From the outset, Ève Gilles caused a lot of talk because of her haircut. This is in fact the first time that a young woman with a pixie cut has been elected Miss France in the history of the competition.
Unfortunately the 20-year-old young woman then had to face heated criticism about her physique deemed “too skinny” and “without any shape”. Many times, the pretty brunette spoke on the subject in the press, declaring that she did not choose her physique and she eats a lot. This Wednesday, January 10, 2024, Ève Gilles once again addressed this point during her appearance on the airwaves of South Radio.“I’m human so after a while when we get 10,000 criticisms in the face, we can’t remain unmoved. Obviously, it hurts” she said. “I’ve already tried through my diet to gain a little, but it never worked. After a while, you have to stop forcing yourself.” she then justified herself.

If the young woman manages to ignore the criticism, On the other hand, it is more complicated for his parents who can read the mockery on social networks daily.. “I see them and I brush them off, I know they have a little more trouble. For them, looking at the comments is a bit like inflicting pain on themselves.” explained Miss France 2024. “When you have a child who is criticized so much, it’s difficult… You don’t put yourself in my place, but you don’t put yourself in the place of the people around me either. I didn’t ask for anything to anyone and I don’t think I deserved all that.”.
